Wilfred “Franko” Duet, 81, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Franko is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Plaisance Duet, his son Wilfred “Danny” Duet (MerriLyn) of Lafitte, his daughters Nita Duet, Tonia Guidry (Jeffery), and Christel Ledet (James), his grandchildren, Jordy Duet, Daniel Duet, Derrin Duet, Kassy James, Frankie Falgout, Blake Foret (Matt Ward), Jake Duet (Andrea), and numerous greatgrandchildren; siblings George Duet and Monita Rousse.
Franko was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred “Chev” Duet Sr. and Avocade Gisclair Duet, his sons Jake Allen Duet and Norman “Jay” Guidry Jr., siblings, Clive “Cliff” Duet, Jessie Duet Sr., Rita Duet, Augustine “Tin” Dufrene, Fredia “Bada” Cheramie, Nita “Veaux” Cheramie, Edith Pierce, and James “Jim” Duet.
He is remembered as a people person who was loved by everyone who met him. He graduated from Golden Meadow High School in 1957 and served his country in the United States Army. He was supervisor at the Tabby Cat Food Plant for 10 years, a maintenance supervisor at the Lady of the Sea Hospital for 25 years, and because of his love for cooking, the owner of Franko’s Chicken & Gossip Restaurant for 5 years.
The family would like to thank the ICU department at Leonard J. Chabert Hospital, St. Joseph Hospice for making his last wishes happen, the Lafourche Parish Fire District, Greater Lafourche Port Commission, and all his family and friends. A special thanks to Scott Bynum for all his love, help, and support.
