Violet C. Meyer, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the age of 80.
Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland on Thursday, February 9 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church on Friday, February 10 from 11:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the church, Friday, starting at 12 noon with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Violet is survived by her son, David Meyer and his companion, Carol Minchew; granddaughter, Nicole Meyer Defelice and her husband Dwayne; 3 great grandchildren, Angelina Ganel, Kade Babin and DJ Defelice and canine companions, Guss, Ta-deaux and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, CJ Meyer; parents, Dubourg Chauvin and Viola Lanegrasse Chauvin and son, Charles C. Meyer.
Violet was a member of the American Legion.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
