Vergie Collins Leonard, 81, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La. went to be with the love of her life Jesus Christ with her loving family at her side on October 17, 2017.
Visitation will be held at Christian Fellowship on Monday October 23, 2017 from 9:00a.m. until funeral time. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
Vergie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Steve J. Leonard, daughters, Gwen L. (Ruel) Douvillier, Vickie D. Capro; son-in-law, Troy Thomassie; brothers, Carrol Collins and Johnny C. Melancon; sister, Dorita C. Bruce; grandchildren, Shawn Cole, Chris Cole, Megan Adams, Andrew Adams, and Joseph Douvillier; great-grandchildren, Caleb Cole, Rule Douvillier and Joel Douvillier.
Vergie was preceded in death by her parents, Demoville A. and Virgie Richoux Collins; daughter, Jamie L. Adams; brothers, D.J., Cleveland, Alvin, Joseph and Adams Collins; sisters, Amanda Aisen, Nolda Collins, Doris Williams, Bertha Borne, Anna Mae Galliano Anderson, Gloria Cheramie, Josephine, Lucy, and Alvina Collins; grandson, Dustin Thomassie.
Vergie's passion was her husband Steve, her biggest pleasure were her grandchildren her hobbies were sewing and crocheting.
