Timothy "Capt. Tim" Sherwood Torrence, 73, a native of Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and resident of Larose passed away April, 6, 2015. A private service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Timothy is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Palmer Torrence, daughters Rene Vaderzee and husband Eric and Libby Torrence Horn and husband David, step daughter Wendy Riggins, six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Mr. Torrence was preceded in death by his parents Henry Sherwood Torrence and Gwendolyn Maida Houston, brother Tom Torrence, sister Beverly Torrence, and son Shawn Torrence.
Capt. Tim was a retired 20 year veteran of the United States Coast Guard who served in Vietnam; he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and was an avid fisherman. He was also a teacher and instructor at LA Fletcher School of Marine and did expert witness work for Maritime Law
