She was a loving caring mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a head cook at Galliano Jr. High school for 20 years and volunteered her time at Lady of the Sea Hospital. Over fifty years, she taught Sunday school to children at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow and Community Bible Church. She had a God given talent for teaching children and loved every minute of it. She was a faithful servant who loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She helped provide for her family and other people in need. She touched everyone she came in contact with. She was a quiet sweet lady who will be missed by many. She loved studying the word of God with her Women’s Bible study group. She also loved to iron clothes; no one could iron like she did. Her favorite verse in the Bible she would write in every card she sent out was Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. If Mrs. Thelma could leave advice to anyone it would be to serve the Lord, pray, love, forgive and be kind to each other and always put God first in your lives. We will miss you dearly but as God has promise we will meet again!
