Stanley A. Gaudet, 92 a native of Cut Off and Resident of Larose passed away on Friday January 10, 2014.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis Norton Gaudet; son, Lonnie Joseph Gaudet; daughter, Diana Gaudet Melancon and husband Ted; grandchildren, Chad Melancon and wife Tzena, Jeremy Dumond and wife Nicole, Joshua Dumond, Devyn Gaudet, Austin Gaudet and great grandchildren, Cooper Melancon, Brianna Dumond.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ambroise Gaudet; mother, Josephine Callahan Gaudet; daughter, Stephanie Gaudet Dumond; brother, Ambroise Jack Gaudet; sister, Sally Gaudet Stan; granddaughter, Kristy Dumond.
He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He worked for Texaco for 32 years as a Motorman.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Larose V.F.W. and the Cut Off Fishing Club "Tin Shed".
