Coach Robert "Bob" Gros

Coach Robert “Bob” Gros, 81 a native of Thibodaux, LA. and native of Raceland, LA. passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 with his loving family at his side.

“Bob” is survived by his children, Bobby (Lynn) Gros, Michael (Janet) Gros, Philip Gros and Dana L. Gros; grandchildren, Renee Authement, Robert S. Gros, Brandi Gideon, Jacob Gros, Brittany Gros, Bailey Gros, Jean Falgout and Jory Falgout; also 8 great-grandchildren.
“Bob” was preceded in death by his wife Lucille L. Gros; parents, Leon and Modest Trosclair Gros; and sister Betty Gros Aysen.
“Bob” graduated
from Thibodaux High School in 1956, South Eastern Louisiana in 1960, received his Masters from East Texas State University. He coached at St. Francis and won a state championship while coaching. Coached at South Terrebonne, Hahnville High School and won two State Championships in 1968 and 1972. He also coached at Nicholls State University and Central Lafourche High School and retired after coaching for 35 years.
“Bob” was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golfing and hunting and loved to cook.
