Raymond Anthony "Me-Nue" Matherne

Raymond Anthony "Me-Nue" Matherne, a native of Gheens and resident of Raceland passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:18 a.m. at the age of 85 years.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nona Mae Matherne; children, Donna Landry(Dave), Dwain "Bouda" Matherne (Kathleen), Julie Breaux (Mark), Valerie Bourgeois (Donovan), Leon "Me-Nue" Matherne (April); 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Nolan Matherne; sister, Joyce Boudreaux; and daughter-in-law, Darla Matherne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Louise Matherne; son, Dennis Ray Matherne; brother, Lester Matherne; sisters, Leona Dufrene, Leota Dominique, and Shirley Eschette.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service in his memory on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Raceland Presbyterian Church, 3883 Highway 308, Raceland, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
