Raleigh J. Lasseigne, 73 a native and resident of Grand Isle, La. passed away of cancer with his loving family at his side on Tuesday June 5, 2018.
Visitation will be on Friday June 8, 2018 at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church from 9:00a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Raleigh is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay Danos Lasseigne; children, Floyd and wife Julie Lasseigne, Gail Lasseigne and husband Beedon Cheramie, and Cindy Lasseigne and husband James Trahan; brother, Jefferson "Co" Lasseigne; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Raleigh was preceded in death by his parents, Alces and Viola Toups Lasseigne and grandson, Chase "Cho-Cho" Lasseigne.
Raleigh loved sitting and rocking on the swing telling old stories of Grand Isle to his customers, He was a commercial fisherman and landlord. He loved riding his 4-wheeler with his dog Bella. Raleigh loved to work.
