Paul Degeyter, Sr, 86, a native of Parks, LA and resident of Cut Off passed away on May 29, 2019.
A visitation will be held at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport on Friday May 31, 2019 from 9:00 am until service time. Military Honors will be performed at 10:00 with Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 and burial following in the church cemetery.
Mr. Paul is survived by his son; Rory Degeyter (wife Shawn) of Cut Off, daughter; Honorena Degeyter of North Carolina, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 6 sisters; Marella “Flea Bag” Hefner of Lafayette, Cecil Fredrick of St. Martinville, Mary Lou Lasseigne of St. Martinville, Rita D. Domangue of Lafayette, and Mary Claire Castille of St. Martinville, brother; Alfred Degeyter of Lafayette.
Mr. Degeyter was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years; Mary Rivet Degeyter, sons; Gil Degeyter and Paul Degeyter, Jr., great-grandchild; Cameron Baker, parents; Cyriac and Corine Sonnier Degeyter, sisters; Ann D Dugas of New Iberia, and brother; Cyriaque Degeyter III of Arnaudville.
Mr. Paul loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved being outdoors and working. He served in the Korean War and was a member of the D.A.V. of Houma and American Legion Post 259.
