Norman J. Landry, 80, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Raceland, died at 8:11 a.m. Friday May 25, 2012.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, with military services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Agnes Richard Landry; two sons, Sullivan Lirette and wife, Barbara, and Brent Landry and wife Stacey; two daughters, Brenda Fanguy and husband, David, and Deborah Naquin and husband, Faron; one brother, Henry Landry, two sisters, Anna Louise Falgout and Betty Boudreaux; 11 grandchildren, Joey and Nicky Landry, Kristen, Rydon, Caitlin and Meagan Naquin, Mary Ratcliff, Jessica Guillot, Gayle McComas, Sulina Hebert and Madeleine Dupre; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Joseph and Annie Sauce Landry; one brother, Gerald J. Landry; and one great-grandchild, Lee Rhet McComas.

He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1955 through July 1957 in Germany. He was a reporter for 10 years for the American Legion and was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 8840.

He graduated from Nicholls State University and Louisiana State University and was a retired assistant principal and educator.
