Nelson P. Guillot

Nelson P. Guillot, 88, a native of Gheens and resident of Raceland passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Nelson is survived by his son, Bruce Guillot (Velma); daughter, Sally Bourgeois (Wayne Landry); brothers, Melvin, Denny and Ronnie Guillot; sister, Delores St. Pierre; grandchildren, Laura Schouest, Brooke Guillot and David Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Caroline and Samuel Schouest.

Nelson was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bourgeois Guillot; parents, Joseph and Lillian Breaux Guillot; brothers, Ray, Russel and Bobby Guillot; sister, Pearl Schartz.

Nelson was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4761 (3rd Degree), Past Commander of VFW Post 3665, American Legion Post #349 and United Veterans League. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Nelson served in Army in Korean War.
