Nelia Melancon

Nelia "Nellie" B. Melancon, 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away Nov. 21, 2014. Visitation will take place at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off on Nov. 25, 2014 from 9:00 am till 9:00 pm and at Christian Fellowship Church on Nov. 26, 2014 from 8:00 am till funeral time. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with burial following at Cheramie Cemetery.

Mr. Nellie is survived by her sons Leffred J. Melancon Jr and wife Callarena, Hennessy T. Melancon and wife Angel, and Michael P. Melancon and wife Denise, and grandchildren Ethan J. Melancon, Michaela Melancon, and Ryne Melancon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leffred "L.J." Joseph Melancon Sr., parents Hennessy and Dorcilla Callais Borne, brothers Jack Borne and Nelson Borne, and sisters Bessy Borne Guidry, Lucy Borne, Julia Borne Boudreaux, and Louella Borne Verret.

Mrs. Melancon was a homemaker and a member of Christian Fellowship Church.
