Neatie S. Knight, 96, a native of Gheens and resident of Raceland, passed away on Monday August 13, 2012.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Friday from 9am until funeral time. A mass will be held at the church at 11am with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Steve Plaisance and wife Edna "Bootsy"; step-daughter, Belinda Knight Billiot; half brothers, Whitney Sampey, Leo Sampey, Jr.; half sister, Debra Orgeron; grandchildren, Steve Plaisance, Jr., Brock Plaisance, Garett Plaisance, Sr., Michael Plaisance, Wayne Bourgeois, Jr., Stacey LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Garett Plaisance, Jr., Kyle Plaisance, Lauren Plaisance, Colby LeBlanc, Chloe LeBlanc, Marlee LeBlanc, Luke Bourgeois, Shea Bourgeois, Baryn Bourgeois, Charlie Aucoin, Tyler Aucoin.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, 1st Wilson Plaisance, 2nd Sedric Knight; parents, Leo, Sr. and Ernestine Sampey; brothers, Norman Sampey, Oliver Sampey, Norris Sampey, Raleigh Sampey, Alton Sampey; sisters, Laura Rodrigue, Guiana Sampey.
She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and cooking. She was a member of the Raceland American Legion Auxiliary.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
