Moise “Mussy” Detillier, Jr. 89, a native of Mathews, La. and resident of Raceland, La. passed away February 6, 2021 with his loving family at his side; not covid related.
Visitation will be Saturday February 13th , from 9:00am until 10:45am at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic at 11:00am with burial at Holy Savior Cemetery.
Mussy is survived by his wife; June Guidry Detillier, children; Wanda (Mike) Thibodeaux, Darlene Hogan, Paula (Barry) Babin and Thomas (Sharon) Guidry, sisters; Sondra Thompson and Terry “Nin-Nin” Detillier, 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mussy was preceded in death by his first wife; Dorothy LeBouef Detillier, step-son; Dennis Guidry, parents; Moise “Jiggs”, Sr. and Corriene Detillier, brothers; Johnny and Curtis Detillier, sisters; Catherine Burdwell and Betty LeBouef, grandsons; Thaddeus “Plumpy” Billiot and Baby Billiot and son-in-law; Morgan Hogan.
Mussy was an Airforce veteran who proudly served his country in the Korean War as an air frame mechanic. He was a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post 3665
As his favorite team was LSU, anyone attending the services are welcome to wear LSU attire.
