Mirabell C. Cheramie, 87, a native and resident of Galliano, passed away at 5:56 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
She was survived by her son, John M. Cheramie; daughter, Jessica C. Kirkley and husband Hoyt; brother, Kearn Chouest; sister, Hazel C. Collins, Gayle C. Brister; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Cheramie; parents, Eugene and Cherita Gisclair Chouest; son, Farrel Cheramie; daughter, Roxanne Cheramie; daughter-in-law, Nita Cheramie; sisters, Anna C. Callais, Victoria C. Gisclair, Patsy C. Comeaux.
She was a catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of Followers of Mary, Ladies Altar Society, Eucharistic Minister and Commentator. .
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
