Menton Paul Rousse, 80, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Thibodaux Rousse; his sons, Myron Rousse and wife, Trudy, and Ted Rousse and wife, Celena. his daughter, Meryl Duet and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Mark Rousse, Blair Duet Pierce, Kristin Duet LeBlanc, Myles Rousse, Arthur Rousse and Kristopher Rousse; and great-grandchildren, Xavier Ledezma, Trason Danos. Layla Rousse, Max Rousse, Lillian LeBlanc, Kenzie Rousse and Madelyn LeBlanc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Phillinesse Rousse; two sisters, Jeanne Rousse Lefort and Josephine Rousse; and two brothers, Manny and William "Bill" Rousse.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandchildren compete in youth sports.
