Mary Pearl Breaux, age 84, a native of Matthews, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018 with Louis (Marguerite) and others at her bedside. Mary was a caregiver first and always with a kind heart she never complained. She loved people and was always open to speak with anyone. Foremost, she loved God! She learned to speak Spanish so that she could communicate with the Cubans who came for grinding in Valentine. Mary was last employed at Chase Bank however she worked most of her years at Valentine Sugars where she was secretary for the Honorable T.M. Barker. She also served as secretary for the Lafourche Parish Police Jury. We will always love and miss you Mary. May you rest in God’s arms.
She is survived by her sister, Della Breaux, brother, Louis Breaux and wife Marguerite along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry J. Breaux, Sr. and mother, Louisia Landry Breaux, sisters, Alice B. Bourgeois (Godfrey), Shirley B. Guidry (Sidney), Delores B. Foret (Benny), and brothers, Eddie Breaux (Marguerite C.), Harry Breaux, Jr. and Earl Breaux (Irvine).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy savior Catholic Church on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Savior Catholic Church and St. Hilary Catholic Church as well as the staff at the Broadway Elder Rehab and Living Center for their care.
