Leroy J. Walker, Sr., 85, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Wednesday November 14, 2012.
Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Chapel in Mathews on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Military Honors will be held by the United Veterans League on Monday at 9:45 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Leroy J. "L.J." Walker, Jr; daughters, Myra Zeringue and companion David Meyers, Helen Walker and companion Douglas Nicknes; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Adams Walker; parents, Agney and Aliet Walker; daughter, Mary "Totsy" Porche; brothers, Herbert Walker, Irby Walker; sister, Willa Mae Usee; great-grandson, Cody Pitre.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II.
