Leona Toups Monnier, 88, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2013.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, O.E. "Butch" Monnier, Jr. and wife Sandy, Francis Monnier, Carl Monnier; daughters, Luella M. Owens and husband Jack, Anne Monnier; grandchildren, Monique M. Jones and husband David, Brett Monnier and Thea, Darrel Owen, Sr., Nick Owen and wife Linda, Greg Owens and wife Wendy, Jason Owens and wife Regina, Ingram Monnier, Carla Monnier; step-grandchild, Robbie LeBlanc; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Octave Monnier, Sr.; parents, Paul and Scholastie Martin Toups; brothers, Paul Toups, Elton Toups, Huey Toups.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Nativity Church Choir for 51 years and the Ladies Alter Society.
She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, music, hunting, fishing and spending quality time with her family.
