Larry Derouen Sr.

December 27, 1962 — September 3, 2023

Larry "Gus" Derouen Sr., 60, of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on September 3, 2023. He was born on December 27, 1962, in New Orleans, LA, to Villey Derouen and Beverly Babin Derouen. Larry was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joy Folse Derouen, his sons Larry Derouen Jr. and Brent Derouen, and his two grandsons Isaac Derouen and Liam Derouen. He is also survived by his brothers Ricky Derouen and Jimmy Breaux, sister Elizabeth Babin, sister-in-laws Theresa (Mike) Pontiff and Carleen (Todd) Braud, and brother-in-law Corial (Trudy) Folse Jr. He also leaves behind Aunts and Uncles.

Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father Villey Derouen, Mother Beverly Babin Derouen, grandparents Hubert and Genevieve Babin, Evol and Olive Derouen, and in-laws Corial and Joyce Folse.

A memorial service to honor Larry's life will take place at a later date.

He was a long-time employee of Chris's Home Improvements and had also worked for Cajun Home Improvements and NRG Windows and Screens throughout his career.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed helping out friends and family and loved to clown around. He cherished moments spent with his family and sons and grandkids, and he had a special passion for playing the guitar.

The family would like to Thank Acadian Ambulance Service, Doctors, ER Staff and his Nurses in CCU and his Second Floor Nurses at TRMC.
