Kirk J. Badeau

With somber hearts, we announce the passing of Kirk J. Badeau, a cherished brother, uncle, godfather, and friend to many, who left us on March 23, 2025. He will be remembered for his caring nature, warm demeanor, and generous spirit. Kirk had a gift for making friends wherever he went, always striving to make others feel comfortable and bringing laughter into their lives. Born in New Orleans, he resided in Raceland.

He is survived by his siblings, Craig S. (Candice) Badeau, Arlen Jr. (Leona) Badeau, Melanie Disbrow, Lillie (Vernon) Foret, Joanny (Brian) Francis, his goddaughter Ashley B. (Brandon) Adams, and numerous nephews and nieces, including William “Billy” Disbrow Jr., Jude (Jennifer) Foret, Drake (Alora) Foret, Brian (B.J.) Francis Jr., Megan Disbrow, Lindsay (Kai) Disbrow, Paige, Brooke, and Natalie Dantin. He also leaves behind great-nephews Tristan Perry, Luke and Beckham Foret, great-nieces Allie and Kate Foret, Wynter Adams, as well as stepchildren Bryan C., Jennifer, and Kimberly I. Kustenmacher.

Kirk was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Lizabeth “Liz” Badeau; the love of his life, Ber-Ber Badeau; his parents Arlen Sr. and Lillie B. Badeau; and his grandparents Howard and Mercedes Badeaux, O.J. and Lucille Blanchard, along with in-laws Carl E. and Doris H. Lauer.

After high school, Kirk worked as a tugboat captain for many years before joining Piedmont Airlines at MSY airport, eventually retiring from U.S. Airways after over 25 years of service. He loved traveling, spending time with friends and family, and nurturing his garden.

Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home located at 4682 Highway 1, Raceland, La. 70394 on Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 am until service time. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 pm with a private burial at St.Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are preferred to Good Samaritan Food Bank located at 2084 Highway 182, Raceland, La. 70394 or at catholiccharities@htdiocese.org
