Katherine "Kat" Tracy

Tracy, Katherine- (1953-2013) Kat passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on May 5, 2013, in her home after a long courageous battle against cancer. She was the loving wife of Chuck Dellert; daughter of Uldine Mann Tracy and the late Billy Tracy; mother to Ken Lewis (Jill), Kris Christoffel, and Alexi Plaisance (Nick); Grandmere to Isabella, Emily, Adelyn, Nylah and Finley; sister to Audrey Jennings (Jerry) and Lois Garraty (Paul); and aunt to many nieces and nephews . Kat will be sorely missed by her family, friends and students. She was an English professor at Nicholls State University and an avid writer with several known publications. She loved poetry, creative writing, reading, flowers, her morning coffee, and most of all her granddaughters. Additionally, she leaves behind a strong group of supporters who fought her illness along side her. All who stayed with her on this road find great comfort in knowing she is finally at peace. Kat Tracy memorial scholarship fund for outstanding student in creative non-fiction at Nicholls State University has been setup for donations. Fly high with your teal wings!
