Joyce Ann Brou Danos

Joyce Ann Brou Danos, a native of Donaldsonville, Louisiana and resident of St. Charles Community passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019. She was 86 years old.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Friday, January 11, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Thibodaux from 9am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Her burial will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.

Joyce is the loving mother of sons Jerome Danos (Betty), Joe Danos (Sheri) and John Danos; daughters Jane Danos Carithers (Russell), Jackie Danos Rhodes (Les), and Joy Danos Logan (Sean). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her sisters-in-law Darlene Danos Trahan and Barbara Zeringue Brou. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Joseph Danos, her parents Clement and Delia Brou, her brothers, Rev. Hubert Brou, Paul Brou, Marvin Brou and her sisters Thelma Brou Michel, and Doris Brou Blanchard.

She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing and worked as a registered Nurse at St. Anne’s Hospital in Raceland for most of her career. As a nurse, she touched the lives of the many patients she cared for.

She admired the tenderness, piety, and devotion of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Queen Mother and exemplified her as a compassionate mother who was always there for us in all our needs.

Joyce loved gardening, sewing, cooking, and gazing at her bayou-side backyard but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She delighted in loving each one of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren will always remember "Maw" for the wonderful, nurturing, loving example she set for each of them and all the love she showered on them.

She will be profoundly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
