John Adams Dupre, a native and resident of Larose, was born Oct. 8, 1923 and died Nov. 18, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow. Military honors will be at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Dolcina B. Dupre; one son, Joseph Adam Dupre and wife Kay; four daughters, Lula "Cheyanne" Johnfroe and husband Gerald, Judith "Judy" Doucet and husband Vincent, Ashley Hebert and husband Kelly, and Cathy Billiot and husband Curtis; four stepsons Calvin Roussell and wife Gladys, Percy Roussell and wife Thelma, Eruis Roussell and wife Verena, Paul Naquin and wife Mary Jane; five step daughters, Margaret Cantrelle, Dorothy Verdin and husband Jerry, Gladys Cheramie, Nazie Chouest and husband Carol, Catherine Marie Roussell; one sister Melodia Dupre; 40 grandchildren, 38 stepchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and 33 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Hilda B. Dupre, Rudy Dupre; four brothers, Eugene, Joseph, Gilbert and Gaston Dupre; five sisters, Elfrieda M. Dinet, Lydia B. Vinet, Delta J. Billiot, Olivia M. Verdin, Olivit C. LeBeouf and one grandchildren.
He was a member of First Baptist of Golden Meadow and a World War II Army veteran.
