Janette C. Eiland

Janette Chauvin Cheramie Eiland, 81, a native of Raceland, Louisiana and resident of Larose passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Visitation will be at 09:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at Christian Fellowship Church. Burial to follow at Raceland Presbyterian Church in Raceland.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Dr. Harold G. Eiland, Sr.; daughters Joy Cheramie (Poochie), and Gena Dupre; stepdaughters Cheryl Kiker (William), Cyndee Fleetwood (Nathan), Donna Eiland; stepson Harold G. Eiland, Jr. (Gene); siblings; Agnes Cheramie and Eva Mckee; grandchildren, Casey Cheramie (Jake), Jenny Baudean (Dave), John-Paul Dupre (Rochelle), Madalyn Danos (Danny), Seth Guidry (Stephanie), Naomi Dupre, Michelle Dupre, Luke Dupre, Lauren LeBouef (Randy), Michael Dupre, and Lindsay Dupre; 9 step grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her late husband of 43 years, LeRoy S. Cheramie; parents, Simon, Sr. and Enola Robichaux; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Nolen; siblings, Larraine Plaisance, Inez Cheramie, Mary Frances Jeandron, Theresa Roundtree, Raphael Chauvin, Sr., Nola Breaux, Simon Chauvin, Jr., Louise Chauvin, and Ridley Chauvin, Sr.

Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed time in prayer and loved God above all else. In recent years her ministry grew sending out a daily scripture to countless friends and family.
