James "Red" Hood, 59,a native of Raceland and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 6:44 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his companion of 15 years, Gina Orgeron; sons, Randy Hood and Heather Champagne, and Eric Hood and wife, Kim; stepchildren, Brittney Brunet and companion, Trent Lasseigne, and Brandon Brunet; grandchildren, Nicole Trosclair, Tayla Hood, Ali Hood and Brynna Theriot; brothers, Lucky Hood and Kenneth Autin; and sisters, Debra Lirette and Kathy Doyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Vickie Autin; and brother, Ted Autin.
He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
