Ignace C. "Heavy" Guidry, 88, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Friday August 17, 2012.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10 am until funeral time. A mass will be held at the church at 12 pm with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Norman C. "Pegeon" Guidry and wife Pat, Cleveland C. "Lil P" Guidry and wife Dawn; grandchild, Kiley Guidry; step-grandchildren, Jarrod Abadie, Larry Abadie, Heather Rizzo, Ashley Baudoin; great-grandchild, Sophia Guidry; Step-great-grandchildren, Alex Abadie, Justin Savoie, Jerren Savoie, Destiny Bourg, Wade Bourg, Jr., Addison Rizzo, Alivia Baudoin, Kaley Baudoin, Caroline Baudoin, Isabelle Baudoin.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne M. Guidry; parents, Charles and Mary Guidry; Brothers, Eugene Guidry, Clay Guidry, Rene Guidry, Charlie Guidry, Lolles Guidry; sisters, Ester Ledet, Juanita Rogers, Bertie Gervais, Viola Hebert, Melacie Thibodaux, Levis Crochet.
Mr. Guidry was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and playing Pedro.
Mr. Guidry's family would like to thank Heritage Manor Nursing Home and St. Catherine Hospice for the excellent care he received.
