Hubert “Slick” Gervais, 77, a native of Raceland and resident of Marrero, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, in Raceland, on Saturday, October 29th from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
Slick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Theriot Gervais; son, Shane Gervais (Leann); grandchildren, Chad Jr., Amanda, Ashley and Mindy; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Sophia, Alé, Brayden, Dean, Braelynn and Eva; sisters, Letsy Foret and Sandra Keller and daughter-in-law, Rachel Gervais.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert J. Gervais Sr. and Lucia Martinez Gervais; son, Chad Gervais and sisters, Joanne Truxillo and Sybil Pitre.
He worked for 36 years, for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad. He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
