Horace J. Matherne, Sr., 88, a resident of Larose passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, March 11th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.
He is survived by his Loving and Caring wife of 68 years, Ruth M. Matherne; children, Linda Toups, Patricia (P.J.) Loupe, Donald (Florence) Matherne, Horace Matherne, Jr., Loria (Jacob) Folse, brother, Gary Matherne; sisters, Mary Delaune, Beulah Boudreaux; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcile and Annie Matherne, brothers, Charlie Matherne, Oakland Matherne; sister, Eula Bourg.
Horace was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and taking care of his animals.
