Geraldine Chiasson

Geraldine Dufrene Chiasson, 88, a native of Raceland and resident of Galliano passed away on Thursday May 10, 2018 in Madisonville, LA. Visitation will take place at New Beginnings Church in Larose on Friday May 18, 2018 from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters; Deborah McRary (Steve), Catherine Creel (Ken), and Terri Alvarado (Tony); 9 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Arthur "AJ" Chiasson, parents; Oscar and Vivian Gauthe' Dufrene, brothers; Warren and Calvin Dufrene Sr., and sisters; Myrtle Rebstock and Audrey Brinson.

Mrs. Geri was known around Southeast Louisiana as the "Tart Lady". She was an amazing entrepreneur who learned the art of baking at her father's feet. Mrs. Geri loved selling her pies at local craft shows and marketplaces and meeting new friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to offset funeral expenses.
