Garland C. "Peanut" Dufrene, 73, a native of Bridge City and resident of Raceland passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Yvonne Breaux Dufrene; son, Shawn Dufrene and wife Amy; sister, Andrea Dufrene Matranga and husband Mark; grandchildren, Tyler Dufrene and Brader Dufrene.
He was preceded in death by his father Roosevelt Dufrene; mother Rita Champagne Dufrene.
He enjoyed fishing. He was a licensed Barber.
Mr. Dufrene was a great husband, father, grandfather and an all around good guy.
