Eric R. "Rickie" Guidry, Sr, 65, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away Friday May 17, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at Lighthouse of the South Worship Center from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. by the United Veterans League. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janell Anselmi Guidry; mother, Mary Falgout Guidry; sons, Eric Guidry, Jr. and wife Dru Duet Guidry, Jeremy Guidry, Sr. and girlfriend Leah Badeaux; daughters, Jene' Guidry Marshall and husband Austin Marshall, Erin Guidry Bauer and husband Carlos Bauer; brother, Andre "Andy" Guidry; grandchildren, Payton, Lexie, Jeremy, Jr., Johnnie-Lynn, Brodie, Mila and Ashton Guidry, Dawson and Anna Marshall, Aaden and Ellie Simpson and Baby Rickie on the way.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andre "Lorris" Guidry; sister, Peggy Guidry Kitchens.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran who served in the U. S. Army.
He was a loving husband, father and proud grandfather. He enjoyed playing guitar, carving and painting anything, fishing and bird watching. He especially loved to share his knowledge of the outdoors with his family.
He was an engineer for L & M Marine in Golden Meadow.
