Ella Mae Dupre, 83, of Larose died August 3, 2021, with her beloved family at her side. Miss Ella was born December 24, 1937, in Little Calliou, Louisiana to the late Ellis and Justillia Dupre. She later met the late Maxime Danos and was married. Their marriage did not last but resulted in three children. Later she met her companion Wilbur Hankins, Sr. and helped him to raise his four children.
“Maw Elle” is survived by her loving children Anita Colombel (Chad), Danny Danos (Lottie), Penny Adams (Ray Sr.); her companion, Wilbur Hankins Sr. and his children Tina Hankins, Tammy Orgeron (the late Lance Orgeron), Wilbur Hankins Jr. (Shannon), and Trisha Orgeron (Steve); sister Dalrita Caro; brother Hewitt “Nom” Neal; 17 grandchildren: Kristy Adams (Andre'), Sandy Verdin (Tommy Jr.), Danny Danos Jr. (Madalyn), Ray "Baby Ray" Adams Jr. (Jill), Whitney Adams (Brad Bourgeois), Brandy Adams (Devin Gudry), Brandon Bruce, Brody Bruce, Brenna Orgeron, Becca Orgeron, Beth Orgeron, Meagan Hankins, Bronson Hankins, Ida Hankins, Amy Orgeron, James Orgeron, Chase Orgeron ; and 10 great grandchildren: Briannah Adams, Kyrin Adams, Kinsleigh Chouest, Tommy Verdin III, Myra Verdin, Dane Danos, Darby Danos, Demi Guidry, Addison Bruce, Abel Worthington.
Ella Mae is preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Justillia Dupre; sisters Rita Dupre, Lorena Liner, and Lena Ellendala; brothers Wilbert and Joseph Dupre; and granddaughters Triche and Shelly Colombel.
A visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose on Monday, August 9th, 2021 from 10:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon with burial following in the Church Cemetery.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church; a volunteer at St. Vincent Du Paul at Holy Rosary, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 251 and she was everybody’s Mawzie.
