Edless J. "Pop" Melancon, 70, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Jason Melancon, Jack Melancon; daughters, Sandra Hayes, Shannon Melancon; brothers, Paul Bourgeois, Edward Bourgeois; sister, Jeanette Dufrene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gale Adams Melancon; parents, Jackson and Lorvena Melancon; sister, Sylvia Melancon.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
