Asst. Chief of Police of Town of Grand Isle, Donald Jo Kruger passed died on Friday, July 26, 2013.
He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Newfield Kruger; son, Donald J. Kruger and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Darryl Kruger and wife Wendi, Dawn K. Woodruff and husband Richard, Jr., Danielle K. Cook and husband Maxum; great grandchildren, Donald Surmik, III, Richard Woodruff, III, Justin Kruger, Autumn Cook, Cody Woodruff, Amelia Kruger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie LeJune Kruger; brother, George "Bill" Kruger.
Mr. Kruger served for 12 years in the U.S. Army. Served for 20 years on Jefferson Parish Police Department. Currently serving on the Town of Grand Isle Police Department.
He was a member of the Elks Organization. Pass Commander of American Legion Post 309 and V.F.W.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time. Military honors will be observed by the United Veterans League at 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
