David J. Thibodaux Sr., 73, a native of Houma and Galliano, LA and resident of Larose, LA passed away on March 6, 2018. Visitation will take place at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in the Church cemetery.
Mr. David is survived by his wife of 46 years; Mary Belle Bourg Thibodaux, sons; Clifton A. Pitre Jr. (Romanda), and David J. Thibodaux Jr., daughters Charmaine P. Rogers (Bobby), Celestina P. Cheramie (David), and Joy T. Plaisance (Cary), grandchildren; Calvin Walton Jr., Christopher Pitre, Naomi Rogers, Cade Plaisance, Bobby Rogers Jr., Cari Plaisance, Callie Rogers, Alyssa Plaisance, Zacary Plaisance, I'an Thibodaux, and My'lee Thibodaux, great grandchildren; Matthew Lebouef, David Carnes, Breanna Walton, Caleb Cheramie, Laina Rogers, and Cason Pitre, and sister Doris Thibodaux.
Mr. Thibodaux was preceded in death by his parents; Thalma and Shirley C. Thibodaux, brother Donald Thibodaux Sr. son; Christopher J. Pitre, and daughter; Barbara J. Danos.
He loved to go fishing and hunting when able, messing and picking with the grandkids, loved to ride his bike, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
