Cleveland "Nu Nu" Chouest, Jr.
March 31, 1943 — October 20, 2019
Cleveland “Nu Nu” Anthony Chouest, Jr. a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am with procession following to his burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
Mr. Cleveland is survived by his wife of 57 years; Jean Dubois Chouest, children; Anthony Chouest (Michelle), Annette Chouest, Matthew Chouest, Sr. (Bernadette), Crystal Chouest, and Christian Chouest (Ranada), grandchildren; Kayla (Ron), Ben (Maggie), Devin, Seth, Jacob, T-Matt, Destinie, Ryan, Ava, Asher and Eden, great grandchildren; Brandon, Emily, Jacie, Susie, Natalie, and Georgia, brothers; Gilmay and Jeffery Chouest, and sister Patricia Louviere.
Mr. Chouest was preceded in death by parents; Cleveland Sr. and Dorothy B. Cheramie, step father; Joseph L. Cheramie, brother; Johnny Chouest, and sister; Arlene Chouest.
Nu Nu loved the Lord, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, trawling and loved to laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. And he would like to leave you with two of his favorite sayings:
“For the Child of God, dying is easy; living is hard.” and “Politicians shake hands; Brother’s hug.”
In lieu of flowers, the family request arrangements be house plants.
