Beverly Ann Acosta Savoie, born on September 16, 1938, was a native of Larose and resident of The Broadway Elder, in Lockport, LA, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the age of 86.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, in Larose, on Monday, March 31, 2025 starting at 9:30 am with a rosary at 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Beverly is survived by her loving daughter, Ramona Savoie Curole, and husband Wayne Curole; grandchildren; Evadne Doucet (Corey), Misty Doucet, Kali and Halen Savoie, and Scott Curole (Christine); great-grandchildren; Harley Leger (Troy), Marcus Jackson, Annabelle Verdin, Kade, Kollin, Kole, Alivia, and Brady Linton, Michael and Alex Curole; brothers; Emery (Bertie), Ronald (Linda), Marvin (Betty) and Dale (Wanda) Acosta. She proceeded in death by her husband, Ray J. Savoie, her sons, Ralph P. Savoie and Henry “Henri” Savoie; parents, Lonia and Armine Acosta; brothers, Clyde Sr. (Willavia “Lou”) Acosta and Earl (Tootie) Acosta; sister, Ruth Acosta Danos (Wilbert) and sister in-law, Betty Pinell Acosta.
Beverly was a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a graduate of LCO, class of 1956. After having her children, on Feb. 1, 1966, she went to work for Citizens Bank & Trust as a teller, where she learned all the positions in banking. In 1985, she became a Branch Manager. She managed at all branches in the 10th ward & Lockport throughout all the name changes. Beverly retired after 30 years in 1996. Beverly was a past treasurer for the Bayou Civic Club when it was first founded 1973. She served from 73 to 78 and 81 to 84. She had the honor of being Queen of Versailles as their 3rd queen in 1977. When Ray retired, they owned a gas station until 1997. On May 7, 1997, they left the bayou and lived at the camp. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the camp in 2005 and moved back to their home in Larose. Beverly enjoyed fishing on the wharf at the camp with her miller light beer. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Hospice and The Broadway for their excellent care and compassion.
