Augusta Adams Cheramie, native of Golden Meadow, La. and a resident of Galliano, La. & Bennington, Ok, was born Dec. 23, 1924 and died Thursday, Nov 8, 2012.
A visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, and from 8 a.m. till 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Curtis Cheramie and wife Margie of Bennington, OK, Danny Cheramie and wife Julie of Braggs , Ok, Willie "Dale" Cheramie and wife Mimi of Luling, La.; daughters, Gail Lefort and husband Albert Sr., Debbie Dufrene; brothers, Ebdon Adams and wife Rita of Westwego, La.; sisters, Vida Toups of Galliano, and Evada Singleton of Jasper, Texas; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two geat-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmas Cheramie Sr.; parents, Lazie and Alice Adams; sons, Ronald Cheramie and Gilmas "Butch" Cheramie Jr.; brothers, Theo Adams and Oliver Adams Sr.; sisters, Olivia Dario, Bertha Walker, Cherita Dandry, Estella Terrebonne.
Samart-Mothe is in charge of arrangements.
