Antoine Nurcie "Tony" Foret, 81, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. by the United Veterans League. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Uzee Foret; children, Jacinta F. Wisinger and husband Timothy "Tim" Wisinger, Vernon J. Foret and wife Lillie B. Foret; grandchildren, Jude J. Foret and wife Jennifer Becnel Foret, Drake M. Foret and companion Tarrasa Savoie; sisters, Joyce Foret Uzee and husband Dickey Uzee, Louise Foret Landeche and husband George Landeche; sister-in-law, Ann L. Uzee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nurcie Foret; mother, Una Foret Foret; brother-in-law, Melvin Uzee; niece, Angie Uzee.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a retired school teacher and owner/operator truck driver. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.
